A Different Kind of Driving Experience

Bill Luke Tempe brings the nearly century-long Bill Luke tradition to the Tempe Autoplex with a distinctive combination of Italian performance, pre-owned selection, and personalized automotive service. The Luke family's presence in Tempe began in 2010 and evolved with the addition of FIAT and later, Alfa Romeo, creating a dealership with a character of its own. Today, Bill Luke Tempe is home to new Alfa Romeo and FIAT vehicles alongside a diverse selection of quality pre-owned vehicles from many of today's leading automotive brands.

Our commitment doesn't end with the sale. From routine factory maintenance to more extensive repairs, our service and parts teams are here to help drivers get the most from their vehicles. Bill Luke Tempe may have its own personality, brands, and automotive experience, but it's built on the same family values that have guided Bill Luke since 1927: transparency, personal service, and a commitment to doing right by our customers and our community.

Our Mission

Since 1927, Bill Luke Automotive Group has remained a family-owned and operated business committed to honest, transparent, and personalized automotive care. Established on almost a century of legacy-driven principles, our mission is to earn your trust, foster lasting relationships, and make a positive difference in the places we call home.

Our Vision

To honor the Bill Luke legacy by continually raising the standard for buying, selling, and servicing vehicles. As we grow and evolve, we remain committed to our family-owned roots, the people we serve, and the communities that have been part of our story for generations.

  • Frank Luke Jr.

Frank Luke's story in Arizona began in 1873, when he arrived in Phoenix as a teenager. At the time, the remote Western town had a population of approximately 1,000 people. Drawn to the desert community, he chose to make it his home. He went on to marry, raise nine children, establish himself in business, and dedicate the last two decades of his life to public service. By the time of his death in 1939, he had risen to the position of State Tax Commissioner. His fifth child, Frank Luke Jr., would leave a very different mark on history. Born to Ottilia and Frank Luke, he lived to be only 21 years of age, yet his achievements as a World War I fighter pilot earned him a place among America's most celebrated military heroes. In just nine months of combat, Luke was credited with 18 aerial victories, making him the leading American ace after Captain "Eddie" Rickenbacker. Rickenbacker recognized the extraordinary talent of the young pilot, once stating, "Had he (Luke) lived, he would have put me out of business as the Army's leading ace." Luke Jr.'s bravery earned him the Congressional Medal of Honor posthumously. His contributions were also commemorated with a statue on the grounds of the Arizona State Capitol and the naming of Luke Air Force Base in his honor. Though his life was brief, his legacy continues to connect the Luke family name with Arizona history and American military service.
  • Bill Luke

William "Bill" Luke, the youngest of Ottilia and Frank Luke Sr.'s children, developed a lifelong interest in machinery at an early age. In 1927, at just 18 years old, he saw an opportunity in the emerging automobile industry and took his first steps toward building a business of his own. That decision led to the founding of Bill Luke Chrysler-Plymouth, where he remained at the helm until his death in 1988. In 1965, Bill broke ground on a new Chrysler dealership, marking another milestone in the company's development. That same year, his 20-year-old son, Don Luke, became vice president of Bill Luke Chrysler. Two years later, after 32 years at its original location at 501 West Washington Street, the store relocated to a new six-acre facility at 2425 West Camelback Road. The move marked an important chapter in the company's growth and gave Don the opportunity to make his own lasting contribution to the family business. Beyond automobiles, Bill's interests extended to farming, cattle ranching, and thoroughbred racing, earning Arizona Breeders Award multiple times.
  • Don Luke

Donald "Don" Luke is the youngest of Dorothy and Bill's five children. From an early age, Don shared his father's early fascination with machines, leading him to join the family business at 13 and work his way up to General Manager, President, and, eventually, CEO of the Bill Luke Dealerships. He and his wife raised three sons, Ryan, Chris, and Eric, continuing a family legacy that now includes well over 100 direct descendants of Arizona pioneers Ottilia and Frank Luke Sr.   Under Don's leadership, the operation expanded with new locations and nameplates across the Valley. In 2006, he opened a new Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge dealership at the Camelback location. In 2010, he acquired a Suzuki dealership at the Tempe Autoplex near Interstate 10 and Elliott Road. The location added FIAT in 2012 and later Alfa Romeo, continuing to grow after Suzuki withdrew from the market. The family's expansion continued with Bill Luke Santan, a new 14-acre used vehicle dealership at the Santan Motorplex in Gilbert. Located at 3304 South Speedway Drive near Loop 202 Santan and South Val Vista Drive, the facility was designed with a desert-inspired color palette to complement the Bill Luke CJDR dealership near Interstate 17 and Camelback Road in Phoenix. Plans included a 24,000-square-foot showroom and a 64,000-square-foot reconditioning facility to prepare vehicles for the family's three locations: Bill Luke Phoenix, Bill Luke Santan, and Bill Luke Tempe. As the Bill Luke Automotive Group celebrated its 90th anniversary, Don was invited at age 73 to serve as chairman of the Arizona Automobile Dealers Association.
  • Ryan Luke

As Don Luke's oldest son, Ryan learned the value of hard work at an early age, joining the family enterprise at just 13 years old. After college, he spent two years expanding his knowledge by working at auto stores in San Diego, California, and Omaha, Nebraska. The knowledge he developed during that time helped shape the sales system still used by Bill Luke today. On November 12, 2018, Ryan became General Manager and Managing Director of Bill Luke Santan. Under his leadership, the location has continued to expand its facilities, opening a VIP Service Center and a dedicated car detailing building.
  • Chris Luke

As Don Luke's second-oldest son, Chris developed an early passion for mechanics just like his Dad. Growing up, he and his two brothers followed the same expectations Don had learned from his own father: school is priority, and the rest of his time can be spent working. Chris began his career as a lot porter before becoming a lube technician at just 16 years old. After earning a business degree from the University of Arizona, Chris gained an outside perspective on operations by working at two out-of-state car retailers. He later returned to the family venture, building on his hands-on experience and working with the Bill Luke Body Shop. Today, as Fixed Operations Director, Chris leads the service management side of the enterprise, helping maintain the quality and customer care that have defined the Bill Luke name for decades.
  • Eric Luke

As the youngest of Don Luke's three sons, Eric joined the family business early, beginning work at the dealership at just 14 years old. He remembers being the youngest employee on the lot and the only one among his friends working more than 40 hours a week during summer break. After earning his college degree, Eric gained experience at some of the country's leading auto centers, broadening his understanding of the industry. Upon his return, he made a point of working across every department at Bill Luke, learning daily operations and gaining a firsthand understanding of what it takes to run a successful business inside and out. Today, Eric serves as General Manager of Bill Luke Tempe Alfa Romeo & FIAT, where he continues to introduce fresh ideas and drive the family's growing automotive group forward.
